The SSC CGL Exam 2016 is divided in three parts of which given below:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Knowledge and Awareness
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English
General Intelligence and Reasoning:
This section involve questions based on Decision making, blood relations, numeric operations, , coding and decoding, space orientation etc.
These questions need to regular practice on a daily basis. There are many books is available in the market to tackle and daily practice these problems.
General Knowledge and Awareness:
General Awareness (GA) involves questions on the basics of current affairs of India and the neighboring countries. It also deals with questions of History, General Policies and Scientific Research, Geography that is questions of Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
The best way to prepare for GK is to read any national newspaper daily and follow a current affair magazine. Also, the students should read current affairs of past 6 months.

Quantitative Ability:
The syllabus of this section is Number System Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Triangles, Time and Work, Circle, Sphere, Polygons, problems related to height, distance, pie chart, bar graph etc.
The best way start for this section is to brush up the basics concepts because that’s what is most important, be it in terms of formulas or conceptually. So, starting from the school textbooks would be the best start. The last thing would be Practice, Practice and more Practice.
English Language and Comprehension:
Most of the questions will be comes in a way to check the basic understanding – identify the errors, synonyms, antonyms, detecting the mis spelt words, active/passive.
Students should do best practice from the best book which available in market. Also, have a look at the previous year question papers and practice the questions.
Statistics
Handling the Primary and Secondary data, methods of data collection, sorting the data, Tabulation of data, Graphs, Charts, Mean, Median, Mode, Common measures of Dispersion etc.
This section can also be started from the school level math’s book and solving the statistics section problem of Class 10, 11 and 12th.
